Education Business Links - Enterprise Programme

We offer a number of fun, educational activities and interactive challenges for all Key Stage 1 and 2 students.

  • Bug hunt - suitable for all KS1 and KS2 students. Available to you at a subsidised cost of £100. A fun science, numeracy, literacy and citizenship curriculum enhanced activity all rolled into one! Children become 'bug hunters' to explore and discover what bugs and other creatures are living in their school grounds. You are provided with a comprehensive pack containing activities, information sheets, worksheets, identification keys and competitions. A newsletter is sent to all participating schools with details of your findings.
  • Maths trails - suitable for all KS1 and KS2 students. Available to you at a subsidised cost of £100. A wonderful and unusual opportunity for children to undertake mathematical challenges whilst on an amazing architectural tour of Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Ludlow or Telford. Children are able to apply and improve their mathematical skills in a real life situation and use their local environment as a stimulus for maths. You are provided with a booklet which sets out a trail for children to follow with directions and fun questions along the way.
  • Mini enterprise - suitable for all KS1 and KS2 students. Available to you at a subsidised cost of £150. A number of exciting, interactive challenges allowing your students to be enterprising. Students take on the role of a mini entrepreneur and look at challenges and ways to solve them. Our challenges range from working on a tight budget designing and building a bridge with limited resources, to designing, creating and marketing your own products to sell.
  • Orange challenge - suitable for all KS2 students. Available to you at a subsidised cost of £150. A very popular, fun and interactive Enterprise activity looking at Fairtrade, where students grow....oranges! This challenge has been cleverly designed to increase the awareness of Fairtrade and see how this makes a difference to producers. The children will experience the pressures facing farmers and workers in the developing world.
  • Superhero challenge - suitable for all KS1 and KS2 students. Available to you at a subsidised cost of £150. A curriculum linked challenge to encourage children to develop their understanding of enterprise and provide an opportunity to develop and apply their reading, writing and number skills. Using special 'superhero design powers' children will also be developing their creative skills to make and market a new superhero for their favourite comic or magazine.
  • Sleigh bridge building - suitable for all KS1 and KS2 students. Available to you at a subsidised cost of £150. A fun and interactive festive Christmas challenge where the children take on the role of Christmas Elves and work through a number of problems to design and make a solution for Father Christmas.
  • The big bunny drop - suitable for all KS1 and KS2 students. Available to you at a subsidised cost of £150. This 'eggciting' Easter themed activity is a numeracy, science, art and design curriculum activity all rolled into one. By becoming an 'Easter Bunny' your challenge is to save your Easter Eggs from a certain doom!

Why choose us?

All our activities and challenges have been designed to support the framework for the national curriculum in a fun and educational way. Without even knowing children will be using a mixture of skills such as maths, team working, communicating, negotiating, budgeting, designing, problem solving and organising skills - to name but a few.

Many of our activities offer the opportunity to learn real world information where children are given the chance to experience their curriculum and not just learn it. Both the activities and support we offer will encourage children to solve problems, develop ideas, improve literacy and numeracy, raise aspirations and more importantly recognise opportunity.
