What we offer
We provide a comprehensive, experienced and professional HR Advisory Service that will provide you with support and guidance in all aspects of people management.

Our approach is a personalised one with access to a dedicated HR Advisor who will visit you as and when required. Your HR Advisor will work with you to identify how best they can support and advise you, taking into account the current priorities for your school and any specific HR related matters. This enables them to quickly develop a strong working relationship with you – something we pride ourselves on.

We provide the following services as part of our standard support package:

  • Professional and pragmatic advice, delivered over the phone, via email or face to face, covering the full range of  employment matters, including:
  • absence management, capability, discipline, grievance, management of change consultation processes and outcomes (re-structures, TUPE transfers, changes to terms and conditions)
  • support in relation to employment matters as a result of Academisation.
  • Safer recruitment advice
  • management of Employment Tribunal claims
  • Attendance at all formal meetings as requested, including Senior HR attendance for all Appeals and more complex matters.
  • Access to a suite of HR Model Policies, Guidance Notes and template documents that are regularly reviewed and updated in line with best practice and legislation and that have been negotiated with relevant Trade Unions.
  • Regular communication with you on national policy changes and forthcoming legislation that will impact on your school, including a termly newsletter.
  • Provide advice regarding exit strategies including the drafting of legally compliant settlement agreements under current government legislation and negotiating terms on your behalf’.

The nature of employment work means that we can offer additional services on a pay-as-you-go basis in addition to services provided as part of the standard service.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • HR Skills Training– either delivered as a bespoke session at your school or through attendance at our open sessions as a reduced rate. This can cover the full range of people management topics, such as Safer Recruitment, Disciplinary, Capability and Absence Management.
  • Conducting independent employment-related investigations on behalf of the School
  • HR Consultancy Services – for example expert advice on changes to terms and conditions of employment, incorporating changes to pay structures (outside of national Terms and Conditions)
  • Updating of or rewriting School-specific policy(outside of HR model policies provided) and negotiating/consulting with relevant Trade Unions on your behalf
  • Drafting reports and action plans on issues such as Gender Pay Gap.

We also offer other associated services such as Employment Services (contracts and payroll) and Occupational Health and there are significant benefits in combining these services:

  • We are able to provide an integrated service from appointment stage to payroll, through to HR Advice. Full employee information is then shared across the Service to support you with the management of employment matters throughout the employee life cycle. 
  • This provides a “one stop shop” in terms of supporting you with all aspects of managing employees and creates efficiencies in processes to ensure a comprehensive and consistent approach.
  • The HR Advisory Team can work closely with Occupational Health to ensure that the advice you are given is pragmatic and moves the issue forward.
  • The Employment Services and Payroll Team has access to specialist HR advice for more complex contractual/pay matters.
